1. What kind of experience do you have as a photographer?

Hi I'm Channon, the Baby Whisperer. I am an expert newborn photographer with 8 years of experience and 2 children of my own.

My passion for newborn photography was sparked when I realized how much photographs of my own family meant to me. I felt driven to create masterpieces for families to treasure for generations. I soon realized that my soul felt full and I had a gift for working with my little clients.

2. What type of photography do you specialise in?

I specialise in Newborn photography but I love telling stories - particularly the stories of family journeys. How 2 become 3 and how 5 become 6, how we treasure our partner, or celebrate our grandparents. So I also do maternity, family and small weddings.

3. Where are you located?

I am based in Lesmurdie, Perth, with a garden studio especially designed for my special newborn clients.

Maternity sessions and family sessions are usually on location at one of Perth's many beautiful beach or woodland spots. Intimate weddings are usually backyard affairs or again, in any number of Perth's beautiful locations.

4. When should clients book their photography sessions?

The very best time to book your newborn session is in your second trimester.

I only take a limited number of bookings every week to ensure my clients receive the very best care and attention. This ensures you a date in my diary when your baby arrives and takes the stress out of last minute bookings.

5. What kind of prices and packages do you offer?

I offer a range of packages, that all include digital files. My passion though is for displaying your beautiful little pieces of art so I I also offer the highest quality prints, canvases and albums.

Prices range from $650 for a basic digital collection. Clients love sitting with me when their photos are ready so I can help them decide on the best options for their family. I charge a $200 deposit to secure a date for you, but this is deductible from the final package you choose.

6. How should customers prepare for their photography sessions?

I provide everything you need for a newborn session, from the most delicate bonnets and tiebacks to wraps and internationally and locally sourced props.

My studio is designed with the care and comfort of your precious new baby in mind. All you need to bring is yourselves. But I also provide you with a guide of what to bring and how to prepare once you are booked in.

I offer a professional hair and make up service for new mums too and also the use of my studio maternity wardrobe.

7. What should customers expect during a photography session?

Newborn Sessions last anything from 2 - 4 hours. This is because babies are unpredictable and we allow lots of time for soothing, feeding, and changing outfits and wraps.

I always include family and sibling images (if there are siblings), a range of prop shots as well as natural baby focused shots.

8. How do you ensure safety of the newborn during the session?

Safety is my top priority and I am skilled in Photoshop to ensure all poses of baby are safely captured and composited if necessary. I am fully accredited with the AIPP, fully immunised and trained in photography baby safety.

9. How soon will customers be able to get their photos?

Your images will be ready within 7 - 10 working days after your session.

10. Do you have anything else you would like to tell us?

If you are looking for the very best for your baby and family; from exceptional customer service, to a relaxed, masterful posing, affordable packages and quick delivery times, I am your photographer.

I would love to take you for a coffee to discuss your needs and what you want from your session. From colour choices, to props and possible artwork for your home. Coffee is on me.
