1. What kind of experience do you have as a photographer?
Hi, I'm Kate and I'm a mum of 2 and I have been doing this for over 8 years. I have my own home studio and I am fully registered, fully insured and fully vaccinated.
2. What type of photography do you specialise in?
I specialise in all your special baby milestones. Maternity, Newborn, Baby and Cake Smash photography.
3. Where are you located?
My home studio is located in the beautiful suburb of Beaconsfield, in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. My studio is a warm comfortable and inviting place for you to relax and enjoy this experience.
4. When should clients book their photography sessions?
It is best to book as early as possible for your photoshoot, as I do book out a few months in advance.
For maternity photoshoots, these are best done when you are between 32-36 weeks.
For newborns, I recommend booking when you are in your 2nd trimester, as I only book a limited amount of newborn sessions per month. I will tentatively book in your due date, then once you have had your baby, we will book in a date and time for your photoshoot within the first 2 weeks.
For Baby photoshoots, these are best done when baby is aged 3 - 12 months. Although my favourite age to photograph is when they are sitting up on their own, but not yet crawling.
Cake Smash photoshoots are normally done when you baby is between 10-12 months old. As these are designed to celebrate your child's First Birthday.
5. What kind of prices and packages do you offer?
I offer a range of packages to suit most budgets. My packages range from $400 - $2600.
For all of my photoshoots, I offer a base package which includes 10 digital files, then you have the choice to upgrade your package as you wish.
My pricing is simple and easy to understand and you know what you are paying for upfront, so there are no hidden costs or surprises when it comes to choosing your photos.
6. How should customers prepare for their photography sessions?
When you book in your photoshoot, I will send you a preparation guide, this has all the information you need to know about your upcoming photoshoot. It will also help you with what to bring and how to prepare for your photoshoot.
My studio is fully set up with everything we need for your photoshoot including change table, full kitchen, bathroom, spare nappies and wipes. I also have all the props, blankets, headbands, bowls etc that we will use in your photoshoot.
7. What should customers expect during a photography session?
Newborn photoshoots can take anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on how your baby goes on the day. I like to allow plenty of time for these photoshoots so that we can capture beautiful images of your baby without being rushed. My studio is kept warm all the time, so that baby is relaxed and nice and sleepy for their photoshoot.
All other photoshoots take approx 1hr.
8. How do you ensure safety of the newborn during the session?
Safety is my number 1 priority during all my photoshoots. I have 8 years experience posing and handling newborns and babies, so you can rest assured that your baby is in safe hands. I am also fully registered, fully vaccinated and fully insured.
9. How soon will customers be able to get their photos?
For baby and newborn photoshoots, your gallery is ready to view in approx 24-48 hours after your photoshoot. Then once you have chosen your images, it takes approx 1-2 weeks for me to edit and deliver your images. Printing will take slightly longer.
For all other photoshoots, your gallery is ready to view in approx 2 weeks. Once you have chosen your images, your gallery is ready to download almost straight away. Printing will take slightly longer.
10. Do you have anything else you would like to tell us?
I absolutely love that I am lucky enough to do this everyday and capture these special memories for you and your family. I want to make this the most professional, yet simple and relaxing experience for you, so you won't need to worry about a thing.
