1. What kind of experience do you have as a photographer?
Hi my name is Ingrid from Foxbelle Photography. I have a Diploma in Professional Photography and began my business in 2015, a few years after the birth of my first baby.
My love of photography began while living and travelling overseas and is where I purchased my first Canon SLR Film camera - which I still love using today. My focus back then was to capture my travels and experiences, but after having children it became all about trying to savour those little moments that were escaping me all too quickly (welcome to parenthood!).
I now have four children and having been working as a Lifestyle Photographer in Melbourne for more than 8 years. I specialise in Newborn, Maternity, Family and Personal Branding Photography and my style is playful, honest and joyful.
2. What type of photography do you specialise in?
I love to document families at all stages of life and specialise in Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography. I also working with small business owners who are passionate about what they do and who want fun and engaging photos.
As a Mum of four, you can be assured that I will bring a calm and reassuring presence to your photoshoot, there is nothing that I haven't seen before. And the only person I want you to be during your session, is you. So if your kids prefer to dance or run, let's embrace it - if they are more of the cuddly type, let's got with that too.
Most of all I want your photos to reflect exactly who your family or business is. And I give you a no fake smile guarantee :)
3. Where are you located?
I am located in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges but offer either in-home or location sessions all over Melbourne.
Anything within a 50km radius of my home is included in your session and I often travel to suburbs such as Croydon, Elwood, Thornbury, Brunswick, Richmond, Ringwood, the Yarra Ranges, Yarra Valley and beyond.
If you are unsure of where to have your session, I can provide lots of different options and locations.
4. When should clients book their photography sessions?
Spring through to Summer is peak season for photography in Melbourne, but Winter is a magical time for outdoor family photos too.
I have limited availability for newborn photography and this should be booked as soon as possible (while you are still pregnant is ideal). To allow for all babies to arrive in their own time, I allocate only a certain number each month.
Friday and Sunday evenings are the most popular nights for outdoor sunset Family and Maternity sessions and Maternity photos are best scheduled for between 32-36 weeks.
Personal Branding sessions often take place midweek during business hours.
5. What kind of prices and packages do you offer?
All of my packages include travel to your home or an agreed location, my experience and creative direction, your session, and a base number of digital photos (usually 10).
After viewing your online gallery there are options to purchase additional photos or the whole gallery. Photos and printed products are also available to purchase from my online print store.
Once you have decided on your final photos, your photos will be sent for download. At this stage they can be shared with family friends so that they can download or purchase prints or products too.
6. How should customers prepare for their photography sessions?
Communicating with you along the journey is important to me, but I also know that life is busy and I don't want to overwhelm you with unnecessary detail.
Once you have confirmed your session date and paid the deposit, you will receive information from me on what to expect, including what to wear and what happens if it rains or somebody is sick.
I want your session to be a relaxed and stress-free event that you will enjoy, so I if there is anything additional that you need help with along the way, I am always here to help.
To make things as easy as possible, reminders will be sent about payments and upcoming session date and times. This is your time to be excited!
7. What should customers expect during a photography session?
There is nothing special that you need to do to prepare for your in-home newborn photography session and you certainly don't need a perfect house. It's helpful to remover any clutter and have a general tidy, but I will also move things around if I need to. Feeding your baby right before the session is great, but as a Mum I know that things don't always go to plan. Whatever happens we will make it work on the day. Getting yourself dressed and ready is enough.
Newborn sessions take 1-2 hours to allow for lots of cuddles, feeds and nappy changes.
Family, Maternity and Branding sessions all take around 1 hour. Outdoor sessions are held an hour before sunset. Your session with me, regardless of what it is, will be relaxed and playful. I will chat away to you while also directing the flow of your session to ensure everybody not only has fun, but that we create amazing memories for you as well.
8. How do you ensure safety of the newborn during the session?
Safety of your family and baby is my priority. I will never put your baby in a position that is uncomfortable or unnatural for it to be in. I am also fully immunised, registered and insured. All babies are different, as are all children and families, and this is where my extensive experience as a mum of four and photographer of over 8 years stands out. My warm and gentle approach will allow you to relax into your session and let me take care of the rest.
9. How soon will customers be able to get their photos?
The full gallery of your photos is available to view 1-2 after your session. At this stage you may chose your favourites or upgrade.
10. Do you have anything else you would like to tell us?
I love photographing connection and joy and want to help you remember what life was like through authentic and playful photography.
It is a great honour to be able to create these memories for you and I can't wait to see what we can create together.
