Mary-Jo has a special interest in women’s health, with a focus on fertility, and has extensive experience with irregular or painful periods, endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, and menopause. Over the past fifteen years, Mary-Jo has been working with couples trying to conceive naturally and providing support to those undergoing IVF, during pregnancy and in preparation for birth, and postnatal recovery. She has studied and worked with Steven Clavey and Jane Lyttleton, both world-renowned gynaecology practitioners in Chinese Medicine, and founded one of the first IVF support acupuncture clinics in Melbourne.
Mary-Jo also has experience with a wide range of internal medicine conditions including digestive and skin ailments, headaches, insomnia, stress, hay fever and immune health. She works with patients to understand their current health situation, medical history and contributing external factors, in order to attain realistic and successful outcomes.
After completing a Bachelor of Science with honours, Mary-Jo studied Chinese Medicine at RMIT University in Melbourne, and interned at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China. She continues to develop her skills by attending lectures in Australia and overseas, and has taught classes in acupuncture for IVF and pregnancy. Mary-Jo is registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, and is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
